Soft Shell Crab
Soft shell crabs are not a species of crab, but any crab that has just molted. When a crab molts, its new shell has to harden. However, when caught, the hardening process stops. Soft shell crabs are valued because the shell can be eaten with the meat instead of broken open. Our soft shell crabs are of many different species of crab due to limited availability, as molting is a seasonal process. They are sold fresh and come in different sizes. Call for availability.
